Foxes Float Trip is thrilled to be part of the 2025 Mapleton Hill PorchFest, a free neighborhood walkabout where dozens of local musicians perform on the beautiful porches of historic Mapleton Hill.
Carly Fox loves to create improvisational folky-pop music centered around voice and guitar; alchemizing her life experiences into art. As a lifelong musician, playing cello and singing with choirs since youth, she found songwriting and guitar playing in adulthood and continues discovering the energy and joy they bring. Foxes Float Trip features her original works performed acoustically in a solo or group format. Carly released her first full-length album of vocal-piano improvisations with friend and mentor Gary Grundei in 2018. Recording is underway now for the second album release with husband Steve Fox playing percussion and recording engineer, and Rex Westen playing cello. It features songs about parenting, family, grief, hopes, dreams, and ghosts; slated for release fall 2025 with Foxy Music. Carly contributes to the local songwriting community as founder of the monthly Songwriters Circle at Doghouse Studio in Lafayette. This free monthly meetup facilitates kind and supportive musical growth amongst members of the songwriting community.
